Haines is a small community located just a short distance (about 13 nautical miles) southwest of Skagway. The bald eagle preserve, located 19 miles outside of town in the Chilkat Valley, is one of its main attractions. Only one or two eagles were seen during Eric's brief tour of the preserve, however a larger number were spotted near Ketchikan later in the week. The photos below showing mounted eagles, bear and moose were taken inside the American Bald Eagle Foundation Interpretive Center.
