Eric has been programming computers since 1977, when he was introduced to the
subject at a special summer seminar for high school students at the U.S. Naval
Academy. His experience includes:
- 1980's - collaborated with father, James R. Holcomb, director of career
planning and placement at Duquesne University, to develop a computerized job
matching program written in BASIC.
- 1978-1982 - extensive instruction in computer programming and numerical
methods as an undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University.
- 1982-1984 - MS in aerospace engineering with emphasis on Computational
Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- 1984-2002 - Engineer for The Boeing Company; participated in the
development of a major CFD code for several years and also worked extensively
in the past several years with spreadsheets including Visual Basic code.
Eric is looking for programming projects with the following characteristics:
- Highly customized code development for the Microsoft Excel environment,
including Visual Basic macros, input forms and/or Excel solver functionality.
- Technical or financial content preferred.
- Reasonable size project for a single programmer.
- Reasonable schedule and performance requirements.
- Limited on-site visits in Central Oregon OK during the development and testing phases.
