Two Rows Above – Ancient Minoan Palace of Knossos, home of King Minos, near the port of Heraklion. The civilization here dates back to about 3000 B.C.! Recent excavations and partial reconstruction of the palace began with Sir Arthur Evans in the early 1900's. The last photo shows the throne room. Some of the artwork are reconstructions or replicas of the original art.
